Coming from a technical background I wanted to improve my management skills, so MBA was my first choice. I was working in Pune since last couple of years so Pune was on my preferred list for my PG. At NWIMSR the diverse student group, highly supportive staff, well organised curriculum and active participation during my MBA course, not only from academics and curricular activities but also from cultural, social and extracurricular activities helped me to learn many new skills and value. Networking opportunities offered by the MBA Guest Speaker Series – where I learnt new ideas and concepts. My presentation and public speaking skills strengthened along with management and leadership. Acting as a Social representative allowed me to interact with other MBA students regularly and learn how to cope up with new responsibilities.

I’m grateful for Neville Wadia for laying the foundation for my career. While academics was important equal emphasis was also given to other development avenues like public speaking, presentation skills and networking with alumni. There were regular visits from industry experts who shared their experiences which prepared us better for times to come. I’m also thankful to the companies that were invited on campus. I was recruited by one of them and 15 years later still with them while living my dream.
Neville Wadia Institute of Management Studies and Research was started by Modern Education Society in 1991. The institute is affiliated to the University of Pune and recognized by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and Government of Maharashtra. The M.E. Society initially focused on the traditional degree programs like B.A. and B.Sc. But within the decade from the establishment of the M.E. Society, a Diploma course in Electrical Technology was launched under the banner of Cusrow Wadia Institute of Technology.

The Cusrow Wadia Institute of Technology, Pune was started by the Modern Education Society, Pune. The Society itself was founded by Late Prin. V. K. Joag, an eminent educationist and Late Sir Cusrow Wadia, an industrialist of repute. The Institute made an humble beginning in 1938 with setting up of Department of Applied Electricity. Since then the Institute has made rapid progress and today it is a full-fledged Polytechnic with multifarious activities under its umbrella.

The history of Ness Wadia College of Commerce can be traced back to June 1969 when the first Pre-degree Commerce classes had started under the auspices of the Modern Education Society. Back then the classes were held in the adjacent building of the Nowrosjee Wadia College of Arts and Science. In 1969, the Commerce wing, thus, came to be established as an independent college of commerce, named after Sir Ness Wadia, (1873-1952), the renowned industrialist and philanthropist of his times. The Modern Education Society is deeply indebted to Sir Ness as well as his brother Sir Cusrow for their unstinting support for this endeavour. The College moved into its present premises with a building of its own in 1971. The College was inaugurated on 16th July 1969, by Dr. H. V. Pataskar,the then Vice- chancellor of the University of Pune.
