Introduction

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a 3-year full-time degree programme that provides theoretical and practical knowledge to an aspirant in the fields of Commerce, Business and Management. The Programme structure of BBA is outlined to create detailed understanding and awareness of various business systems to cultivate desired business insights amongst the students. This programme is designed with the specific objective of developing various skills, aptitude, and awareness amongst the students in tune with the prevailing business systems that govern different types of business organisations. The program is designed to cultivate business acumen among students and aims to develop skills, aptitude and awareness in tune with prevailing business practices. The basic objectives of the course are to provide undergraduate students particularly those planning a career in business administration with a comprehensive introduction to the study of business administration with an underlying focus on entrepreneurship, skill building and real-world business practice. It aims at developing skills appropriate to the demands of the rapidly changing modern business environment. The BBA program is designed to impart business and management knowledge to aspiring students for a better understanding of the corporate world. It enables students for drawing a prospective career in the field of Business Management. The program blends five core disciplines of Business, Management, Economics, Communication and Information Technology. From Academic Year 2024-25, the professional program will be administered under AICTE, providing multiple entry and exit options for students. Students can pursue a 3 year BBA program or pursue a 4 year BBA Hons. Program . The syllabus has been designed as per NEP 2020.

Eligibility for Admission:

A candidate possessing 50% for open & 45% for reserved category marks at the Degree or Masters Degree examination in any faculty of any statutory University shall be eligible for admission to M.B.A. course. The candidate should also have qualified in the Common Entrance Test for M.B.A. conducted by Government of Maharashtra, DTE & Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Outcome Based Education (OBE) Approach: Outcomes are about performance, and this implies: a) There must be a performer – the student (learner), not only the teacher b) There must be something performable (thus demonstrable or assessable) to perform c) The focus is on the performance, not the activity or task to be performed.

Specialisation

The following specializations shall be offered as MAJOR / MINOR:

The following specializations shall be offered ONLY as MINOR Specializations:

  1. Rural & Agribusiness Management (RABM)
  2. Pharma & Healthcare Management (PHM)
  3. Tourism & Hospitality Management (THM)
  4. International Business Management (IB)

Comprehensive Concurrent Evaluation

Comprehensive Concurrent Evaluation Methods are used by Course Teachers. Course Teachers can opt for a combination of one of more CCE methods, some of which are:

Class Test, Open Book Test, Written Home Assignment, In-depth Viva-Voce, Case Study, Caselet, Situation Analysis, Presentations etc. to name some few.

Comprehensive Concurrent Evaluation (CCE) / Concurrent Internal Evaluation (CIE):

  1. The course teacher shall prepare the scheme of Comprehensive Concurrent Evaluation (Formative Assessment) before commencement of the term. The scheme of Comprehensive Concurrent Evaluation shall explicitly state the linkages of each CCE with the Course Outcomes and define the targeted attainment levels for each CO.
  2. The Director / Head of the Department / designated academic authority shall approve the scheme of Comprehensive Concurrent Evaluation with or without modifications.
  3. The course teacher shall display, on the notice board, the approved CCE scheme of the course and the same shall also be hosted on the website, not later than the first week of the term.
  4. Each CCE item shall be of minimum 25 marks.
  5. For a 3 Credit Course there shall be a MINIMUM of three CCE items. The final scores shall be converted to 50, using an average or best two out of three formula.
  6. For 2 Credit Courses there shall be a MINIMUM of two CCE items. The final scores shall be converted to 50.
  7. For a 1 Credit Course there shall be a MINIMUM of one CCE item.
  8. CCE shall be spread through the duration of course and shall be conceptualized, executed, assessed and documented by the course teacher along with student-wise and class-wise attainment levels of the COs and the attainment levels of the course.
  9. The assessment outcome of each CCE shall be duly signed by the course teacher, HOD / academic head and the Director / Head of the Department / designated academic authority of the Institute.
  10. A copy of the duly signed CCE outcome shall be displayed on the notice boards, within a week of the assessment and course teachers shall guide the students on a need basis.
  11. Institute may conduct additional makeup / remedial CCE items at its discretion.
  12. At the end of the term aggregate CCE scores / grades shall be calculated and the CO attainment levels shall be calculated by the course teacher.

End Semester Evaluation (ESE):

  1. The End Semester Evaluation (Summative Evaluation) for the Generic Core (GC), Subject Core (SC) and the Generic Elective (GE – UL) course shall be conducted by the Savitribai Phule Pune University.
  2. The ESE shall have 5 questions each of 10 marks.
  3. All questions shall be compulsory with internal choice within the questions.

Is the M.B.A. Program a Full Time program?

Yes, M.B.A. is a 2-years full time program

Can I work alongside my study?

Since the MBA program is a full time program, students are expected to attend college regularly as per SPPU, Pune and UGC New Delhi norms. Students may, if they wish, join a part time job without missing on the academics and co-curricular activities of the college.

Is a student allowed Internship during the program?

Yes. College has a dedicated Training and Placement Officer (TPO). TPO will also take necessary efforts to provide Internship and placement for registered interested students.

Is the Admission assured after filling up the Admission Form?

No. After the submission of Admission Forms, Merit lists are prepared. Admission for MBA is based on Merit and conditional to eligibility approved by DTE, SPPU, Pune and other Government guidelines.

What are the Fees of the MBA Program?

The fees of the MBA Program are as per the Shikshan Shulka Samiti guidelines. For further queries and clarifications, contact the administration office.

Are ADD ON courses compulsory?

No. Add On courses are for Skill Enhancement and are recommended.

Is it necessary to Submit assignments and Tutorials?

Yes. Each Assignment, presentation and Tutorials carry marks. There is a separate passing head in Tutorials and it is essential to pass.

Is Passing in every Head compulsory?

Yes. Under the Choice Based Credit System (2019 Pattern), passing separately in each Head is compulsory. Heads imply Internal Examination, SIP Viva-voce, External Examination and Practical wherever applicable. Please refer to the university syllabus for detail information.

Can I change the specialization once I have opted in second semester?
Can I change my Minor Specialization?

No. Once minor specialization is selected in third semester, it cannot be changed.
